The Polyblend #381 8 oz. Bright White Grout Renew Colorant is a highly recommended product for renewing and changing the color of cement grout joints. It has been reported to stay bright white for at least 6 months and potentially longer with proper cleaning maintenance. It is advised to test the product on an inconspicuous area before applying it to epoxy grout or non-porous surfaces. For shower applications, it is recommended to let the colorant dry for 24+ hours and apply a light coat of clear silicone afterwards for extra waterproofing. The colorant may help make the grout and adhesive look uniform, but excessive adhesive showing through may require removal before application. The color of the grout does not change during the drying process. The product adheres well to the grout and does not peel off when properly applied and cleaned. If the desired color is not achieved with the first coat, a second coat can be applied. It is recommended to apply the grout renew before sealing unsanded grout, and it has been successfully used on existing grout with good coverage.
