Microscale Industries Arts & Crafts Editorial Review
Micro Sol Microscale BMF128 Setting Solution MSSOL is a highly recommended product for model car enthusiasts who want their decals to look seamless and painted on. This solution is primarily a softening solution that helps the decal conform to the surface it is applied to, giving it a realistic appearance. One of the key advantages of Micro Sol is that it works well with Tamiya acrylic paint and Mr. Topcoat. Users brushed a few coats of the setting solution over their decals on Tamiya acrylics and found that it made a significant difference in making the decal appear painted onto the rough or detailed surface of the model. The application process involves brushing a little solution on the model where the decal will be placed, then carefully patting down the wet decal with a wet brush. Additional coats of the solution are applied every fifteen minutes until the decal dissolves into panel lines and covers other details. After the decals have dried, a varnish finish coat can be applied to blend the decal lines into the surface and enhance the painted-on appearance. Reviewers also found Micro Sol to be effective in getting decals to conform to uneven surfaces or around surface details. It is an easy-to-use and inexpensive product that helps decals settle properly and gives a realistic finish.
