The Novation Launchkey 61 MK2 is a MIDI keyboard controller that does not have speakers or create its own sound. It needs to be connected to a computer or tablet running music software. The MK2 version has higher quality components and full RGB pads compared to its predecessor. The buttons are assignable, and therefore, it can be used as a drum pad machine, but customization may be required depending on the DAW. The device is compatible with Windows 10, and the cable used is a regular USB. It has octave transpose buttons and can transpose up or down a few notes in the software. Customer experiences with the Novation Launchkey 61 MK2 varied. Some customers experienced issues, including the keyboard's unreliability, flimsiness, and obnoxious behavior with Windows drivers. Others found it great for creating music, easy to use, and a fantastic MIDI controller for Ableton. A common issue among customers who experienced problems was the keyboard stopped working.
