Although the seams are not taped, they are close to being waterproof and can keep you dry in normal conditions. The schoeller fabric is the best in the industry and can even shed water, so rain pants may not be necessary. The weight of the pant is 24 oz. The waist fits true to size, but the legs are way too long, with the bottom part of the pant being loose. Therefore, gaiters are recommended.
