It includes a mixture of asphalt and Stoddard Solvent (mineral spirits/petroleum distillates) with no inert ingredients. The product is suitable for use on fruit, shade trees and ornamentals, and great for protecting fresh limb cuts for evergreens. The product appears to adhere to the tree, without spewing clots, and the aerosol helps to avoid mess. It is easy to use and store, and washable if gloves are worn. The spray tar is easier to use than the tar in the can. However, it still leaks sap out of the cut areas even after two coats, and the dark brown color may look odd where branches were pruned off. It's not recommended for damaged or burnt trees, and it won't work for roots. Overall, many customers were happy with the product and would recommend it.
