The adhesive only holds the metal patch in place for a short period until sparkling compound is applied over it. The product comes with five metal patches that could be cut with metal snips. It may be challenging to use two patches for a large hole, and it is recommended to cut a square area out around the hole and place small pieces behind the drywall and patch with seam tape and the 3M wall patch.
